How the Simulation Works
This simulation models the relationship between bacteria and antibiotics in a simple environment:
- Bacteria (green or blue circles) move randomly and reproduce periodically.
- Antibiotics (red circles) move randomly and can kill non-resistant bacteria on collision.
- When bacteria reproduce, some offspring may randomly mutate and become antibiotic-resistant (blue).
- Resistant (blue) bacteria cannot be killed by antibiotics.
Color Key
- Green: Non-resistant Bacteria
- Blue: Resistant Bacteria
- Red: Antibiotics
