I trained as an electrical engineer, then studied visual communication at IIT Mumbai, then mass communications at Miami University, then got a Ph.D. in educational psychology from UIUC. A somewhat strange meandering path that brought me where I am today—a Professor in the Mary Lou Fulton College of Teaching and Learning Innovation, (and with an affiliate appointment in the Design School). I am also a Senior Non Resident Fellow at the Center for Universal Education at Brookings, and an AI Innovation Fellow at ASU’s Learning Engineering Institute. I’m a TED-Ed educator, an AERA Fellow, and I’ve been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide.
