SITE is my conference. It has been for years now, and not being able to attend this year’s meeting in Philadelphia was bittersweet, to say the least. But even though I couldn’t be there in person, our team had a strong presence, and that’s what matters.
A huge shoutout to Lindsey McCaleb for stepping up and representing the team on the ground. Lindsey presented across multiple sessions over three days, and I am grateful she carried the flag for all of us. Thank you, Lindsey!
We also had two asynchronous video presentations this year, both of which I made with Danah Henriksen. The video for one of them, It Don’t Matter If You Use AI in Your Classroom, was particularly fun to make. Danah and I tossed a coin and took on personas (I became the tech bro and she became the skeptic) and we went back and forth from there. It was a blast. Both videos are embedded below.
All in all, the team was involved in eight sessions spanning generative AI ethics, student relationships with AI, wicked problems in education, human-AI creative collaboration and more. Below are all the sessions we were part of, with links to the submissions, slides, and videos.
