Below is Team Energy’s blog post for my Human Creativity x AI for Education class. In the urge to top every other group in class, Team Energy decided to write two posts – one in third person and the other through their individual voices and perspectives. I have included both below. As always, I have not edited their post in any way. You can read the previous posts by following the links here: Post 1; Post 2; Post 3; Post 4; Post 5; Post 6 & Post 7.
Without further ado here is…

Part I: Human Creativity^AI: Exploring the Spark Between Human Imagination and Machine Intelligence
As AI tools become more accessible, many of us are starting to ask: How can we actually use this in a meaningful way? The Human Creativity AI showcase is our response to that question: a hands-on, playful, and reflective space where we experiment with AI not as a replacement for creativity, but as a powerful collaborator.
Throughout the semester, our class has explored a wide range of generative tools, from text and image models to coding copilots and creative automation platforms. This showcase is both a celebration of that exploration and a deeper inquiry into the why and how of AI-enhanced creativity.
This event isn’t just about showing off what AI can do. It’s about understanding where it thrives and where it falls short. One of the biggest takeaways? AI is great at generating ideas, remixing concepts, and speeding up certain processes, but it still needs human judgment, nuance, and emotion to create something truly meaningful. In other words, the magic happens in the collaboration, not the automation.
We think this is especially valuable for students, creatives, and anyone navigating a future where AI will be a part of their work. Whether you’re coding an app, writing a story, designing a brand, or facilitating workshops, this showcase gives people a chance to:
- Play and build with AI in real time
- Explore critical questions about ethics, bias, and agency
- Learn tricks, tools, and techniques that are actually useful
- Reflect on their own creative process and how AI fits into it
It’s not just about what AI can do, but what we want it to do—how we can guide, shape, and even challenge these tools to enhance our ideas instead of replacing them.
Moreover, by actively engaging with AI in this collaborative way, we foster deeper awareness about the impact and implications these technologies hold for society. We are encouraged to think critically about who designs AI, whose values are embedded in it, and how we can collectively steer its development toward inclusive and ethical outcomes.
At the heart of Human Creativity AI is the recognition that creativity has always been fundamentally human—a vibrant interplay of imagination, intuition, and empathy. As we integrate machine intelligence into this delicate balance, we open exciting new pathways for innovation, storytelling, and expression, while reaffirming the irreplaceable value of human insight and creativity in shaping our collective future.
The approach described above closely aligns with John Dewey’s four impulses for learning: Inquiry, Construction, Communication, and Expression, impulses we’ve actively discussed in class as we explore ways to integrate them into the upcoming “Final Showcase.”
Inquiry sparks our curiosity, prompting us to explore and question the capabilities and limits of AI technologies. Construction empowers us to actively build, experiment with, and adapt AI tools to our unique needs and purposes. Communication facilitates open dialogue about our experiences, challenges, and discoveries, enhancing our collective understanding. Finally, Expression offers us the means to creatively articulate and share our insights and personal narratives, highlighting the essential human perspective that complements and enriches technological innovation.
Part II: The Final Show: Fleeting Thoughts, Mid-Semester Burnouts, and Perspectives from Three Students Graduating in May
The Final Show! The Final Show! The Final Show! The class felt like a lively circus on Monday, with Professor Punya playing the ringmaster; his enthusiastic directions reminiscent of P.T. Barnum orchestrating his spectacular house of wonders. The event is just three weeks away, and there’s an urgent need to plan, prepare, delegate roles, sort out logistics, and assemble everything into a spectacular showcase. Yet, mid-semester burnout is creeping in; typical student energy mirrors a quadratic graph, “U” shaped, beginning high, dipping in the middle, then surging again towards the excitement of the semester’s end.
There’s much activity: one team manages planning and project coordination, another handles graphic design, and another focuses on website creation. A fourth, unassigned category includes content creators who will showcase innovative AI products, although their role is still being defined.
Amidst the engaging chaos and shifting breakout groups, three graduating students share their unique points of view.
Kofi’s POV:
I sit in class contemplating my role in the upcoming Final Show. Should I teach others how to build their own offline ChatGPT? Demonstrate vibe coding tools and processes. Or showcase AI art and animations? Amidst these choices, I’m reminded of looming graduation-related deadlines and the accompanying stress of job applications and life after school.
Initially inclined toward the project management team due to my affinity and talent for planning and organization, I sense my dwindling energy. Ultimately, I decided to focus on vibe coding and AI game development. However, there’s no breakout group for this yet………perhaps next week.
Professor Punya mentioned Dewey’s four impulses for learning: Inquiry, Construction, Communication, and Expression. I’m reflecting on how best to integrate these principles into my contributions. Oh Boy, there is so much we can do with this. There are a lot of great and ingenious minds in class. I am sure we can pull it off together. For now, I’ve joined the web development huddle, assisting in initial planning, creating a site map, and selecting an appropriate framework.
One thing’s certain; the Final Show is shaping up to be an exciting, memorable experience.
Yuktha’s POV:
When I first started exploring AI tools this semester, I kept wondering: How can I use this in a way that feels meaningful? The Human Creativity AI showcase became my chance to find answers. It is not about replacing human creativity but about discovering how AI can collaborate with us, pushing boundaries while keeping the human element at the core.
Our class explored various generative tools—text models, image generators, coding assistants, and even creative automation platforms. This showcase is a reflection of that journey. But it goes beyond just showing what AI can do. It asks more profound questions about where AI excels and where it still needs human intuition. One thing became clear: AI is excellent at generating ideas, remixing concepts, and speeding up processes, but it lacks the judgment, nuance, and emotional depth that only humans bring. The real magic happens in the collaboration between humans and machines, not in full automation.
This is especially relevant for students, creators, and professionals navigating a future where AI will be an integral part of their work. Whether someone is coding an app, designing a brand, or writing a story, this showcase offers the opportunity to:
- Experiment with AI tools in real time
- Ask critical questions about ethics, bias, and human agency.
- Learn practical techniques and tips that genuinely improve workflow.s
- Reflect on how AI influences their creative process.
For me, it is not just about exploring what AI can do. It is about deciding what I want it to do. How can we guide and shape these tools to enhance our ideas rather than replace them? That is the real question driving this showcase.
In the end, Human Creativity AI is not just about the technology. It is about the conversations, experiments, and shared experiences that help us understand ourselves better while shaping the future of the technologies we use.
Tanmay’s POV:
As I reflect on this semester, I realize how much our class, where human creativity meets AI, has shaped my perspective. It’s been an exciting journey, filled with brainstorming sessions that spark fresh ideas and deep discussions that challenge the way I see the world. The fusion of creativity and technology has opened my mind to new possibilities, showing me how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human ingenuity.
In the last week’s class, we finally turned our focus to something big: our showcase. The excitement was palpable as we dove into discussions, imagining what we could create to truly amaze us. We divided into teams, each eager to explore different directions and bring something remarkable to life. Even though we’ve only just begun, the energy and collaboration have already set the stage for something special. It’s not just about showcasing our work; it’s about capturing the essence of everything we’ve learned and pushing our creativity to new heights.
Amid the mid-semester burnout, this class remained a source of inspiration. It’s not just about learning; it’s about seeing the world through a different lens, one that embraces both innovation and imagination. As graduation approaches, I carry with me the insights gained from these experiences, ready to apply them beyond the classroom.
