Creativity…

There is an absolutely dull and pointless story in today's NYTimes on creativity. Though it is titled Eureka! It Really Takes Years of Hard Work, this story clearly did not take much time to write. I agree not all articles in the Times are (or need to be) hard news......

Generative AI: Will history repeat or (just) rhyme

As generative AI continues to reshape our world, we're faced with a crucial question: Will we repeat the mistakes we made with previous technologies or will this time be something different? George Santayana famously warned, "Those who cannot remember the past are...

International Literacy Day, new ambigram

In celebration of International Literacy Day, here is a new ambigram design - it reads, "Literacy" one way and "Reading" the other! Enjoy. See below for an attempt to use CSS to use to make the rotation automatic when you move your cursor over the image. Check it out....

Scrivener vs. Writer

A NYTimes article on word-processing versus writing (or scrivenering??): An interface of one's own. What stood out was this description of writing being more than just the putting of words on a screen -- but rather of seeing it this complex, often non-linear...

The mysterious pentagon… explained?

Around 2 weeks ago I posted a note about a "pentagon" I saw in some boiling lentils in my kitchen. There have been some interesting responses to this... but before I get to that, here is the original image, if you missed the original posting: Interestingly enough, a...

Great post, that is fantastic. I love doing stuff like this with my family. It creates a great bond. In fact, for Christmas we learned how to draw portraits for our family Christmas card.

Nice video. I initially though that you were going to set up a domino chain reaction. By the way, was the “Happy 2011” on the table a real shadow effect?

    Great creativity using shadows.

Even silence can be a powerful language if used appropriately. Even shadows can throw light if used creatively.

    Wish you the same
